Provide an allowance of 0.25" (blank) place. Say, you have an 8" x 10" brochure printing, add 0.25" to both dimensions to make the ultimate measurement 8.25" x 10.25". Now only the useless aspect will be cut if ever the printing device malfunctions. Transfer footers and images to a "safe" make place away from the boundaries. Source from brochure printing site.
